Day 19, Flight 077

As a prelude to returning back to Europe, I now headed to Canary Islands, a territory of Spain. I chose the island of Gran Canaria as my destination, since I'm familiar with it from a previous visit there. However I wasn't sure if I'd stay there or continue back to the continent to Agadir. At least a fueling stop would be required, as I only took enough to get to Gran Canaria.

The weather was nice and clear as I took off and left Africa behind. But as I proceeded to the sea clouds started to build and by the time I got to the islands I could barely see the sea behind the clouds.

The weather was foggy near the airport, but I was aided by a NDB beacon. The PAPI lights kept me on the glide path but I wondered about a large hill on my left that appeared to be in the glide path for runway 3L. (I later tested it and found out that it actually was not a problem.) Just like at the end of the previous flight, the weather conveniently cleared just as I landed.

I decided to take a break at Gran Canaria and not immediately continue with the next flight.
